Beveloid Gear Design

Beveloid gears are special conical involute gears. Beveloid gears are used in transmissions with intersecting axes, allowing inclinations of output shafts of up to 10°. These gears are found in 4 x 4 car transmissions with inclined driveshafts for the front wheel drive portion, and in marine transmissions with inclined output shafts. In both instances, they offer advantages in terms of compact installation space.

Beveloid gears can only be ground with the continuous generating process. For this purpose, Reishauer offers a user-friendly option to grind these gears.
